Terrebonne Senior Jacob Olivier received the overall prize from the South Central Louisiana Services Authority for the "Art of Respect" essay writing contest for his submission on hurtful speech. Jacob's essay was part of a campaign to help bring about social awareness to certain negative words and create a culture of friendship and respect for all Louisiana's citizens. Jacob also received a $100 cash award for his essay and was also acknowledged with a proclamation from the Terrebonne Parish Council for his achievement.
